Technology Application

Using methanol as raw material, crude hydrogen (mainly CO2, H2, and trace CO, CH4) is produced by steam cracking process, and then purified by pressure swing adsorption technology to obtain hydrogen with purity meeting the requirements of users.
The raw methanol and raw desalted water are premixed at a certain ratio, pressurized by metering pump, preheated, gasified and superheated, and then enter the reactor. Under the action of catalyst, the reaction is carried out to generate crude hydrogen. After heat exchange, the heat is recovered, cooled, and then enter the pressure swing adsorption device for final purification.

Methanol reforming

Main process description:

Recover the unreacted methanol and water in the circular buffer tank, and mix with the methanol feedstock which is from methanol buffer tank, (within a certain proportion of methanol and water) pressurized by metering pump into the heat exchanger, firstly heat exchange with the converter gas; After the first heat exchange, the stream enters into the steam superheater, secondly heat exchange with the heat conducting oil and complete vaporization and overheating. The temperature of the raw material steam reaches a certain high temperature and go into the reformer, complete the catalytic decomposition and conversion reaction at the same time, high-temperature reformed gas is cooling down with the in raw material liquid and circulating cooling water by heat exchanger and condenser. It’s the third heat exchange. The temperature is cooling to below 40 ℃ in the washing tower by the desalted water washing. The reformed gas mixture goes to a gas-liquid separator for water separation, and then goes into PSA purification section. The unreacted methanol is adsorbed by the desalted water, and back to recycling system by recycle liquid pump.

When hydrogen and carbon dioxide from the water shift reaction are used for hydrogen generation, the adsorption towers are filled with CMS.
